We leave a QR-coded ID tag plate on every line we build. Whoever is on site scans it with a phone and sees what the system is, when it was installed, when it was last inspected and what has happened to it. A protection system is not finished on the day it is installed; when a rock hits, a net tears or maintenance falls due, it must be clear who will know.
How it works
- The plate on site. A stainless ID tag plate is fitted at the beginning and the end of the line. It carries a QR code, an eight-character code and an emergency phone number.
- Scan and see. The QR code is read with a phone. No app, no account. The system identity and the maintenance status open.
- Report what you see. Rockfall, damage or a missing part is reported with a photograph; the report lands directly with our team.
- Written into the log. Inspection, maintenance, event and repair records are written to the tag with their dates. The system stays traceable for its whole life.

What it gives
- To the authority: the identity of the line and its maintenance calendar at one address; a record that stands in for documents at handover and in audits.
- To the contractor: the answer to "which system was installed here" at hand years later.
- To the road user: an address to report a fallen rock, with no phone number to look up.
- To us: real event data from the field; our next designs improve on it.
Privacy
- The tag page does not publish the project name, the client or coordinates. Only the technical identity of the system and the maintenance record are visible.
- The contact details of whoever files a report are not published; they are used only to get back to that person.
- Reports are reviewed before publication. A record that is not approved does not enter the log.
